Vintage Italian Murano Uranium Glass Geode Bowl Cased Sommerso MID Century

Presenting a stunning vintage Italian Murano sommerso cased Uranium art glass Geode bowl. This exquisite piece has a sleekly curved kidney-shaped form with a quality polished thick wide rim which perfectly flaunts the vibrant layered colour combination! This wonderfully thick and chunky piece has been spectacularly coloured with a layer of vibrant red glass suspended sommerso style within a striking turquoise blue layer which glows with a magical intensity under a UV black light indicating the presence of uranium. The layers of colour spectacularly refract throughout the thick glass form, blending and combining to create a magnificent range of radiant tones. The rich colours become electrified with a magical neon intensity as they reflect off the sleek curves and fabulous thick glass rim. SPECTACULAR MID CENTURY MODERN ITALIAN MURANO GEODE GLASS BOWL! This striking piece has been expertly hand crafted and very well finished by a master Italian glass artist circa 1950s. This piece has a polished flat ground base and rim, a sure sign of a quality handcrafted vintage piece. There are sufficient light surface scratches to the base to authenticate this is a genuinely vintage example. SIZE: This wonderfully impressive piece stands approx 65mms tall and measures 185mms in length x 140mms in width. WEIGHT: This substantial piece weighs 1.810 kgs unpackaged. CONDITION: This authentically vintage piece does display some light signs of age with a small chip and a minuscule rough spot to the outer top rim along. These incredibly small nibbles are noticeable only on close examination and do not detract from the beauty of the piece. There are also some exceptionally light and fine surface scratches to the underside evident only in bright raking light.
