This is a beautiful example of early Victorian Art Glass. It is 11" diameter and 4 1/2" tall and the base is 3 in diameter. This is a Bowl or Brides Bowl. It is not known for sure who the maker is but it is Victorian from the late 19th early 20th century and made in the Bohemian area of Europe. Ware on the bottom is commensurate to it's age of well over 100 years.
It is White Opal glass with a Ruby die-away or overlay with an applied clear crystal edge. The glass is quality flint opal glass with a nice red fire when held to the light.
It's in perfect condition with no chips or cracks and no mineral deposits or stains of any kind. This is a beautiful piece and the photos do not do justice. Any unusual white or dark spots shown in the photos are from camera glare. This will make a great accessory to any Victorian home.
