Facts on Frederick Carder: Frederick Carder (September 18, 1863- December 10, 1963) was an English artist and glass maker. He was born in Staffordshire, England and attended Stourbridge School of Art and the Dudley Mechanic Institute... Frederick Carder and Thomas J.

Hawkes (of Hawkes crystal) co-founded the Steuben Glass Works in Corning, NY, the home of Corning Glass Company (also known as Corning Glass Works). Carder ran Steuben Glass Works from 1903 until 1932 when Steuben's new president decided to concentrate on colorless glass, then Carder left Steuben to become design director of Corning Glass Works... Carder's glassmaking career ended in 1959, when, at the age of 96, he finally closed his studio and retired from Corning Glass Works.

He died in December 1963, eighty-three days after his 100th birthday.. This gorgeous Centerpiece Compote Bowl top is gold with fine iridescence and onion skin pattern..

Underside is the white calcite.. Approximate measurements are 12 inches top rim diameter by 3 3/8 inches height.. Light signs of previous use and ownership needs to be taken into consideration and also consistent with age.. Free of chips, stains, or cracks, slight to none on imperfections...

I do see one manufactured bubble (dot)-see picture 4... And one small area of scratch commensurate with age and previous use - Does not take away from quality of bowl, just mentioned for accuracy. Just re-package in its original packaging materials, box and insured (or similar in size)..

The items I sell are vintage, antique pieces and have been previously owned - these are not new store bought items... I also do my best to give detailed information on the vintage items. Keep in mind they are vintage (old) and will have flaws.

If item is damaged, SAVE ALL PACKAGING MATERIALS and BOX for photo taking.. Will need to send me all pictures to start the claim.. Once I received the proof (pictures requested) of damage, will automatically start the claim. This item is in the category "Pottery & Glass\Decorative Cookware, Dinnerware & Serveware\Bowls".
