Up for your consideration is a Spectacular Czech Art Glass Centerpiece Bowl designed by Jaroslav Svoboda. RARE variant of the well known 7233 pattern " Circles " bowl Jaroslav designed in 1972. The bowl itself is the identical bowl to the 7233 bowl (made in various sizes). The variation is the 8 alternating blue and green "Tadpoles" applied around the outer sides, rather than the applied circles.

It is in excellent vintage condition. Please view all photos as they are an important part of the description. The last photo shows the only flaw present on the piece. At the base of the green tadpole on the right is a sliver of glass that i believe was at the time of making due to it slightly rounded on the edge (not sharp). My determination is it was done before the base was ground and polished.

This flaw is also visible in other bottom photos. This has been in my personal collection for 3 years and is among my favorite pieces. The current price is the absolute minimum I will except. Attribution: The bowl is not signed, nor does it bear any original label. Identification of this piece was difficult due to its scarceness. I have only been able to identify one other example of this bowl in a smaller 6 size that was previously available on a web site last year. I have been unable to find any documentation pertaining to the production of this variation.

That this variation was not a regular production piece, but rather a "special order" made in very small quantities. Production of the 7233 Bowl by Skrdlovice was 1972 to around 1989. Jaroslav Svoboda continued to produce the circles bowl after opening his own glassworks in 1990. I have found no reference to, or documentation, that this variation has been continued.

And his three brothers in 1940. Emanuel was designer, joined by his two sons in the 1950's. Other designers to work at Skrdlovice include. Skrdlovice later became Beranek again after re-privatization.

The Beranek factory closed in 2008. Feedback is given when item is paid for. I describe items to the best of my abilities, but sometimes I may miss something. This is a very heavy piece of handmade glass weighing 5 lbs.
