Salviati is famous for their zanfirico work and this older piece has all the signs of the highest quality master glass artist! Below It is decorated with two varieties of very fine latticino (lace) and retortoli (ribbons) and pure metallic gold & copper dust. Accents, between two layers of clear crystal glass.
Wonderful footed base is a mark of an older, high-end piece. The base was highly polished. And shows the expected shelf-wear that is consistent with it's age.
It's a stunning piece of artistic excellence! Excellent addition to an art glass collection, or a thoughtful gift for a special person. DIMENSIONS: 4" widest (10.1 cm) x 3" sides x 2½ tall. Free from any damage or restoration. FULL CONDITION REPORT: We thoroughly inspected this piece and found no cracks, chips, nicks, scuffs, flea bites, flakes, hairlines, notable scratches, repairs or evidence of grinding.Could be seen or felt. Any natural indentations, bubbles, tool marks and/or any other natural textural features are all original to this piece and normal for hand blown glass.
Depending on age and/or functionality of service during its lifetime, you may find marks or fine/shallow surface scratches, that are barely visible. This is not damage--it's valued by collectors, establishing age and authenticity! Wear to the base is consistent with age. After Antonio Salviati died in 1890, the company was run by Amalia Salviati Ivanich, and Salviati's two children, Giulio Salviati and Silvio Salviati. Following Silvio's death in 1920, the company was run by Maurizio Camerino and his two sons Mario Camerino and Renzo Camerino. Dino Martens designed for Salviati between 1932 - 1935.
