Stunning Purple and gold sommerso Cordonato d'Oro bowl with stunning encased gold ropes and an exceptional shape and size. The bowl has both ends stretched out an two ward the base to create very interesting shape with luxurious gold encased in a ribbed body. The color is kind of a mauvey brown or a brownish mauve that changes according to the light. Cordonato d'Oro was a technique used by Ercole Barovier, c. It is literally 24 carat gold leaf twisted to look almost like a rope.
