Quite sure this is Bohemian and dating to c1820's. Real gold was used in the making of this early, true cranberry glass example. Fantastic cutting with large polished pontil and in a nice large size at about 9" diameter, and 5 1/2" tall. The cutting is very sharp and deep under and all around the top rim. There are four oval bulls-eyes that protrude from the rim and in between, on the outside, are deep hanging arch cut lines/grooves and straight carved lines that are also large with finely cut, and deep with large "X" hatches and what I would call "strawberry diamond" patterns within the "X"s.There is one polished spot on the rim that likely took out a chip/bruise. This is such a sharply cut piece that there are bound to be a few minute nicks/flecks, but overall is pretty great condition as I hope the photographs show. A great piece for the era.
