1950s Alfredo Barbini Murano Italy Pink Submerged in Opalescent Art Glass Bowl

A Mid Century Modern Alfredo Barbini from Murano Italy hand blown free form pink submerged " Sommerso" in opalescent art glass accent bowl. The entire bowl is encased in crystal clear glass.

On the base you would probably have found a Camer Glass New York Made in Italy label which was a known importer of Murano Glass specifically Alfredo Barbini Glass or a Weil Imports label which is missing. Can function as an accent bowl, or decorative sculpture. The bowl measures approximately 6" or 15 cm in diameter x 2.75" or 7 cm.

It is in excellent vintage condition free of cracks or repairs. Please see my pictures as they are a part of my description. The bowl will be carefully packaged and fully insured.

Alfredo Barbini began his long career in 1925 at the age of 13, working in the S. In 1929 he joined Cristalleria di Venezia e Murano as a master glassblower. From 1936 to 1944 he was a partner and master glassblower at Societa Anonima Vetri Artistici Murano, known as S. Following World War II Barbini worked as master glassblower and designer successively with Archimede Seguso and Napoleone Martinuzzi, then became a partner with Vetreria Vistosi and, later, Gino Cenedese.

With financial assistance from the firm of Salviati & C. For whom he produced products, he formed in 1950 his own glass firm, Vetreria Alfredo Barbini (reorganized in 1983 as Alfredo Barbini Srl). His firm exhibited his work at the Venice Biennales from 1950 to 1961. This item is in the category "Pottery & Glass\Decorative Cookware, Dinnerware & Serveware\Bowls".
