Rene Lalique Volutes Pattern Bowl. An Art Deco period opalescent glass bowl by the famous French designer Rene Lalique. It is in the Volutes (whorl) pattern and in the coupe-ouverte shape, Lalique catalogue number 10-395.
It dates around 1934 and has the R Lalique France stencilled mark to the center of the bowl. Lalique opalescent glass takes on blue tone when front lit on a dark background and when strongly back lit has fiery orange tones.
This example has quite strong opalescence and looks relatively blue under even regular lighting. A good example, a few minor surface scratches.
