Northwood THREE FRUITS ANTIQUE CARNIVAL ART GLASS RUFFLED BOWLAQUA OPALESCENT
I ESPECIALLY WANT TO THANK THE REPEAT BUYERS. I GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS, LOYALTY AND COMMUNICATION OVER THE YEARS!

MY AUCTIONS ARE ALWAYS NO RESERVE AUCTIONS, HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS, THE WAY AUCTIONS SHOULD BE. SO PLEASE ENJOY AND HAVE FUN WITH THEM! This is a VERY SCARCE Antique Northwood THREE FRUITS Collar Based Ruffled Bowl with the Rayed or Ribbed exterior back pattern made in the early 1900's. The Base Glass color is very highly prized AQUA OPALESCENT!

The iridescence is pastel in nature and features vibrant Rainbow Multi-Color with lots of BLUE. The raised pattern details glisten with pure zest and absolutely light up when natural light strikes the display surface at any angle. The opalescence on this one is very strong too... Extending well down into the bowl making for a extremely attractive presentation. You'll be hard pressed to find another specimen more beautiful in this kind of condition. IT IS AN INCREDIBLE PIECE! Certainly a piece that stands out in a crowd and gets noticed!

In terms of its sheer rarity and exquisite visual appeal, the shelf presence is Spectacular! Please look the photographs over and enjoy. I have shown you as many angles and iridescent features as I could cram into 12 photographs. Dark areas in the photographs are absolutely shadows only.

This is a tremendous opportunity to own an extremely elusive, absolutely gorgeous specimen with a fabulous overall presentation. A stunningly beautiful piece of Antique Northwood glass. This one is NOT marked. Not all Northwood was marked, it has been very well documented that only 1/2 of the pieces made were marked.

I have owned many hundreds of pieces in this pattern over the years and my experience has been less then half were marked. It is absolutely an authentic Northwood piece...

Antique Northwood at i ts VERY Finest! It is every bit Elegant and Visually Stunning as the photos show and then some!

My photos are taken outside in natural indirect sunlight. I never use a flash or props. I never enhance photos, never have, never will. I aim to show you the best iridescent color the piece offers. If the piece looks awesome in the photos...

What you see is what you will get! The piece is 8 3/4 inches wide at the widest point. 2 1/2 inches tall at the tallest point. There are NO CRACKS or REPAIRS on this Extremely Elusive, Visually Exquisite Antique Northwood Ruffled Bowl. A Phenomenal example of this fine antique glass!

THE BASE: The mold seams are barely there to the touch... I can make out just very slight shelf wear on the bottom of the base which is very common for this antique glass...

Certainly nothing uncommon on this Exquisite Beauty! It sits flat and level on a flat surface. THE INTERIOR: I can't make out any wear to the interior display surface at all which is extraordinary for the shape and pattern and indeed this antique glass in general. The iridescent properties are eye catching and exceptionally appealing and features soft, gorgeous Pastel Rainbow Multi-Color with lots of vivid BLUE. The raised pattern details glisten with absolute zest in natural light.

The Rayed exterior back pattern shows through readily to the display surface further enhancing the overall visual effects. The opalescence is very strong with this one too giving it Spectacular shelf presence! A stunningly gorgeous example that stands out in a crowd gets noticed! THE EXTERIOR: I can't make out any wear on the exterior of this stunning piece which is remarkable. THE EDGE: The piece is well formed in every regard. The ruffles show great balance all the way around the bowl. PHOTO 10 shows that there is a small, very shallow flake on one of the teeth... Shown very clearly for you next to the end of a ball point pen for easy reference to any ball point pen in your home. There are two, the other one is smaller and even more shallow. They are very difficult to see on display unless the piece is picked up and examined closely. They are completely insignificant, in my opinion, on a truly elusive piece, gorgeous too, with exceptional visual qualities that the photographs clearly show, in total, has been so very well taken care of over the last 100 years. It was kept as a Show Case piece in my opinion! They very seldom ever come along for sale at all, but especially with iridescent and opalescent features so well done. An extremely elusive, visually exquisite piece of antique Northwood and an classic and classy piece of this century old glass. That is all I can find on this VERY SCARCE, Stunningly Gorgeous Antique Northwood Ruffled Bowl. An ultimately eye catching example of this very elegant and highly prized pattern, shape and very difficult to obtain base glass color. This fabulous piece makes a whale of a statement on display in terms of its sheer rarity and pure visual beauty! A high quality presentation that is an absolute delight to look at, one that stands out in a crowd and captures attention!

If you enjoy owning superb pieces... Ones that few others have...

Here is a vibrant example loaded with eye catching details and a very pleasing iridescent luster with strong opal qualities giving it Fantastic shelf presence! It will add tremendous visual quality and interest to your display as well as outstanding dollar value. It is every bit as Rich and Gorgeous as it looks and then some! I fully intend it to be that way, no glitz and glamour. I find it completely fascinating. There is nothing else like it in the world of antiques... The historical pieces I sell are part of our history, as a country, and made right here in the good ole' USA unless I state otherwise. They represent a time when America made things, great things... Before it was popular to sell this country out! The photographs say it all!

Nothing else needs to be done or said. I do my best to point out damage or wear issues with the pieces I offer.

True antique glass always has some manufacturing marks. It was made a century ago and mass produced... Well before quality was an idea.

Well before Cell Phones, Computers or any technology at all. It is hard for people to comprehend that today, but it is fact. The working conditions were unbearable by today's standards, yet the hard working American's of this era produced some of the most amazing items ever made. Manufacturing marks within the glass are part of the charm of this period in time. If there is a manufacturing mark that is out of the ordinary... Such as excessive, contained, bubbles throughout the glass or a manufacturing heat check...

Normal manufacturing marks such as straw marks, stretch marks, enclosed bubbles, light tool marks, though, will not be mentioned and should certainly be anticipated. Look over the many photos provided.

If typical manufacturing marks bother you... Please ask questions up front!

I will readily answer questions as diligently as I can. It will further your appreciation and hone your interest. I highly recommend David Doty's Carnival Glass Website.

I also find his Field Guides extremely helpful if you can find them, there are several. They are the best guide to learning patterns, especially the 2000 updated version.

I also recommend Edwards and Carwile's Carnival Glass Encyclopedia... There are several editions published. They cover the widest array of patterns of any guide I have seen and the text is excellent. There are other very worthy materials out there that will help you learn and grow, as well as numerous clubs and organizations. I use premium ONE INCH bubble wrap (not the cheap 1/4 inch) and foam peanuts to package the pieces exclusively. I take great pride in packaging these wonderful pieces of history VERY well... Like they deserve to be packaged and I like them packaged for me. I never know how an item will sell. My goal, however, is to NEVER have a damaged piece of glass... My feedback comments prove my diligence in that regard.

Running No Reserve Auctions do not always allow me to do that... For repeat buyers I certainly will!

I don't advertise it... I just do it when I send the invoice. It is my way of saying THANK YOU! I run 7 to 10 day auctions with plenty of photos, text and lots of time for questions if needed.
