This is a RARE Antique Northwood PEACOCKS or PEACOCKS ON THE FENCE Collar Based Pie Crust Edge Bowl with the Rayed or Ribbed exterior back pattern made in the early 1900's. The Base Glass color is highly prized ICE GREEN. If you love Pastels, my oh my is this one GORGEOUS! A superb opportunity to own a dandy with a PREMIUM, high quality presentation! The piece exhibits splendid iridescent characteristics throughout the display surface...

Vivid pastel Rainbow Multi-Color featuring lots of Blue that gives it awesome visual appeal on display. The very elegant raised pattern details glisten with pure zest in natural light. The photographs do not do it full justice at all. These seldom every come along for sale in ICE GREEN, but especially with visual characteristics this Beautiful. It is a Magnificent example for sure.

And it is very beautiful as well! Please take a look at the photographs and enjoy. I have shown you as many angles and iridescent features as I could cram into 12 photographs. Dark areas in the photographs are absolutely shadows only.

This is a tremendous opportunity to own an extremely elusive specimen with gorgeous pastel colors that makes it stand out in a crowd and get noticed! A remarkable, absolutely fabulous piece of Antique Northwood glass. This one is NOT marked. Not all Northwood was marked, it has been very well documented that only 1/2 of the pieces made were marked. I have owned many, many pieces in this pattern over the years, handed many more, and my experience has been less than half were marked.

It is absolutely an authentic Northwood piece... Antique Northwood at i ts VERY Finest! It is every bit as Stunningly Gorgeous as the photos show and then some. My photos are taken outside in natural indirect sunlight. I never use a flash or props. I never enhance photos, never have, never will. I aim to show you the best iridescent color the piece offers. If the piece looks awesome in the photos... What you see is what you will get!

The piece is 8 3/8 inches wide at the widest point. It is 2 1/2 inches tall at the tallest point. There are NO CRACKS or REPAIRS on this Extremely Elusive, Stunningly Gorgeous Antique Northwood Pie Crust Edge Bowl. A Magnificent example of this fine antique glass!

THE BASE: The mold seams are barely there to the touch... I can make out just very slight shelf wear on the bottom of the base which is very common for this antique glass... Certainly nothing uncommon at all on this stunning beauty! It sits flat and level on a flat surface.

The close up photographs clearly show the condition of the interior surface is superb... Exceptional for this shape, pattern and indeed this antique glass in general.

The display surface is covered with superb pastel iridescent colors... Amazing eye appeal in natural light. The raised pattern details glisten with zest too as natural light strikes the display surface. The Rayed back pattern shows through to the front at various angles further enhancing the overall visual qualities.

And it is amazingly beautiful as well... PREMIUM visual characteristics over this extremely elusive base glass color!

THE EXTERIOR: I can't make out any wear on the exterior at all which is extraordinary for this elegant shape and pattern. THE EDGE: The piece is well formed in every regard. The Pie Crusts Edge well done all the way around the bowl... Shows very nice balance overall.

PHOTO 10 shows that there is a very, very small, very shallow flake on the backside of one of the teeth... Shown very clearly for you next to the end of a ball point pen for easy reference to any ball point pen in your home. You can clearly see how very tiny and insignificant it is...

Completely insignificant, in my opinion, on a truly RARE piece with gorgeous pastel iridescence that the photographs clearly show, in total, has been so very well taken care of over the last 100 years. It was absolutely kept as a Show Case piece without a doubt! They very seldom ever come along for sale, and especially with iridescent presentations this beautiful in this kind of overall condition. An Extremely Elusive, Remarkable piece of antique Northwood and an classic and classy piece of this century old glass. That is all I can find on this RARE, Absolutely Beautiful Antique Northwood Pie Crust Edge Bowl.

A splendid example of this very elegant and highly prized pattern, shape and extremely difficult to obtain base glass color. This extraordinary piece makes a heck of a statement on display in terms of its sheer rarity alone... And the superb pastel colors make it extremely attractive on display. Few will have one at all, and even fewer will have one that can come anywhere close to comparing to this beauty. It is a pure pleasure to hold in your hands and extremely pleasing to the eyes.

If you enjoy owning rare pieces with TOP NOTCH pastel iridescent splendor... Here is a high quality example! A PREMIUM beauty that add awesome visual appeal and exceptional interest to your display as well as fabulous dollar value.

It is every bit as Elegant and Beautiful as it looks! I fully intend it to be that way, no glitz and glamour. I find it completely fascinating. There is nothing else like it in the world of antiques...

The historical pieces I sell are part of our history, as a country, and made right here in the good ole' USA unless I state otherwise. They represent a time when America made things, great things... Before it was popular to sell this country out! The photographs say it all! Nothing else needs to be done or said.

I do my best to point out damage or wear issues with the pieces I offer. True antique glass always has some manufacturing marks.

It was made a century ago and mass produced... Well before quality was an idea. Well before Cell Phones, Computers or any technology at all.

It is hard for people to comprehend that today, but it is fact. The working conditions were unbearable by today's standards, yet the hard working American's of this era produced some of the most amazing items ever made. Manufacturing marks within the glass are part of the charm of this period in time. If there is a manufacturing mark that is out of the ordinary...

Such as excessive, contained, bubbles throughout the glass or a manufacturing heat check... Normal manufacturing marks such as straw marks, stretch marks, enclosed bubbles, light tool marks, though, will not be mentioned and should certainly be anticipated. Look over the many photos provided. If typical manufacturing marks bother you...

Please ask questions up front! I will readily answer questions as diligently as I can. It will further your appreciation and hone your interest. I highly recommend David Doty's Carnival Glass Website. I also find his Field Guides extremely helpful if you can find them, there are several.

They are the best guide to learning patterns, especially the 2000 updated version. I also recommend Edwards and Carwile's Carnival Glass Encyclopedia... There are several editions published.

They cover the widest array of patterns of any guide I have seen and the text is excellent. There are other very worthy materials out there that will help you learn and grow, as well as numerous clubs and organizations.

I use premium ONE INCH bubble wrap (not the cheap 1/4 inch) and foam peanuts to package the pieces exclusively. I take great pride in packaging these wonderful pieces of history VERY well... Like they deserve to be packaged and I like them packaged for me. I never know how an item will sell.

My goal, however, is to NEVER have a damaged piece of glass... My feedback comments prove my diligence in that regard. Running No Reserve Auctions do not always allow me to do that... For repeat buyers I certainly will! I don't advertise it... I just do it when I send the invoice.

It is my way of saying THANK YOU! I run 7 to 10 day auctions with plenty of photos, text and lots of time for questions if needed. The item "Northwood PEACOCKS ANTIQUE CARNIVAL ART GLASS PCE BOWLRARE ICE GREENGORGEOUS" is in sale since Monday, February 29, 2016.
