Frosted Amber Ice Man Art Deco Float Bowl
Frosted Amber Ice Man Art Deco Float Bowl. This is an art deco pretty frosted amber float bowl. It features three Ice Men, each holding an axe and smoking a big pipe. It is a good quality float bowl which was made in the Depression era 1920's and 1930's. The bowl is 10 inches. In diameter and it stands 3.5 inches or 9cm tall so it is fairly deep. The bowl is all frosted, round in shape and the three men look like they are crawling around the bowl. I have heard this bowl being called by several names. The Ice Man, the Axe Man, the Cave Man and even the Miner. The bowl is very good, the foot of the bowl has some soft scuff marks from being on a cupboard. For a float bowl this old you can expect a few scuff marks on the foot of the bowl.
The top of the bowl has a smooth edge and there is a small defect in the smooth edge. It could be an air bubble from the moulding process. It doesn't really detract from the look of this lovely bowl. You can see the defect in the sixth photo.
It looks bigger than it is in the photo because it is zoomed in. There are no cracks or repairs on the bowl with only one defect I mentioned in the top (for accuracy). Have a look at all the photos to see the lovely colour and condition. I know what it is like to get broken items and feel bitterly disappointed when they are not wrapped properly.
